Anise

Anise Seed is a graybrown oval seed from Pimpinella anisum, a plant in the parsley family. It is related to caraway, dill, cumin, and fennel.

Amardine:

Arabic name for dried apricot paste, in sheet form. It can be dissolved  in water, add sugar and drink it as a juice or make  puddings.

Arab pancakes, either sweet with nuts and syrup or savory with cheese; the filling is put on half of the round, folded into two, and then deep-fried.

Atr

Arabic word for sugar syrup, often scented with orange- or rosewater, added to desserts, juices and pastries .


Arayes

Minced lamb with onions,tomatoes,mint,and pine nuts in grilled Arabic bread.


Agwa

Is a puree of dates to which sesame seeds and cardamoms have been added. Commonly used as a filling in most Arabic cookies.
